Things that are Great...

Welcome to another edition of Things that are Great! Here's a few things that a tickling my fancy this week:

Log Lamp - This fun and quirky log lamp would look so terrific in my bedroom! I am kind of obsessed with faux-bois, and I love the mis-matched quality of smooth porcelain with a faux woodgrain texture. Wouldn't this little lovely from Decurate brighten up some little corner in your abode?

• D.I.Y T-Shirt Necklace - If you are anything like me, you have stained or hole-y t-shirts hanging around your house. I wear some of them as pajama tops, but I could spare quite a few. Since spring is weeks away, I could use some cheep,(or free)colorful accessories to spruce up the wardrobe. This tutorial, from I Still Love You,  for an adorable t-shirt necklace is just what I need. I am thinking about using a navy shirt for a nautical look!

• Paint Chip Art - This paint chip wall art tutorial from Rachel Denbow, for A Beautiful Mess, has been making the rounds for a while, and I am finally gonna try it for myself. I love the endless color possibilities and how "poor-friendly" it is!

My New Roots - How to Cook Quinoa from My New Roots on Vimeo.

• Quinoa - Guys, you have to try quinoa! This stuff is cheap, delicious, and so full of protein and nutrients. I tried it for the first time last week, and I can't get enough of the stuff.

My New Roots - Speaking of Quinoa, I am in love with the blog My New Roots. Sarah Britton is a holistic chef living in Copenhagen. Her blog features some seriously beautiful and healthy food porn. She makes a healthy, whole foods based diet look as beautiful and elegant as it can be.
